Born and raised on the coast of British Columbia, Canadian artist Brian Eccles has lived on the Queen Charlotte Islands/Haida Gwaii since the mid 70’s pursuing a career in fisheries and forestry. As a craftsperson and artist, he is mostly self-taught and has been influenced by his surroundings and travels to Europe, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.  Brian has worked in ceramics for about 8 years and has concentrated his efforts on Raku and stoneware pottery. In the past last year Brian has added silversmithing to his mix of interests and is currently working with the lost wax casting process to produce unique one-of-a-kind sterling silver and gold images. Brian's artwork has been displayed in several solo and group shows on the Queen Charlottes as well as in Prince Rupert and Vancouver.
